50,000 hits young!

Yes today we passed through the 50,000 barrier, and I along with everyone else here at SWTA hope there are many more to come.

So I guess you guys want to know what's happening?
Unfortunately as you may or may not know Jer had a little mishap with his computer and it might be a couple of weeks till he's back and working with us again :(.
Otherwise Hawkman has been his productive self, although now he's diverted his enrgy into making tilesets for the project.
Yensid has continued his work on the SWTA interface, and the fruits of his labour are just starting to emerge. Here's his first draft at the new
frontend. Personal I think it's sweet, but your they guys that will be looking at it all the time; so tell us what you think I've opened a thread in our fourm.
Sadely Han and I went back to college yesterday, but I did manage to make a start on one of the missions that will be accompanying the final release of the TC.

Otherwise keep coming back for updates and come talk to us in our forum. We're nice guys … honest.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hawkman has been VERY busy since returning to SWTA, as the previous post illustrates. He has now moved from units and textures back to maps again, and revived his Hoth tileset (with the moss). Check out this groovy screenshot!

Even more good news (we're just full of it) is that an ex-member Super Saiyan has just given me 5 top models, which I'm going to finish up now.. Finally, the boards are going strong, with ours currently the second most popular board, only after TAU General and TAU Strategy! This is superb so get over there and get discussing!

Progress as usual :)

I'm pleased to announce that another established unit maker has joined our cause. It seems that letting us use his model as our Repulsorlift Factory wasn't enough for Ninja, who has now joined us as a full time staff member.

Otherwise work is being completed steadily, it's even been hard to keep up with all the stuff going on. Jer and Han are busy finishing of the Destroyer Droid, which from what I've seen will be excellent, Ninja will be starting work on some of the gaf's soon, Hawkman is working on some custom textures and a few more models. Slaya has however diverted more of his attention to the WW3 conversion as it's first release is due on new years eve, but never the less has bestowed a few more models or Jer for scripting.

Don't forget to check out our forums, but otherwise I'll leave you with a rendering of Hawkman's rather sexy Sith Temple.

Post X-mas

The Christmas Break is unfortunately now over, but progress has been steady. Over the break more work has been done on the Repuslorlift Factory by Jer, Slaya continues to pump out models, and even I have done some work. I have completed the Destroyer Droid seen in TPM, and have passed it to Jer for scripting. I'll get a pic up in the next few days...

Other good news is that CAP is continuing to work on SWTA tiles, and we may just be 'borrowing' some of his sweet features from the new Snowy Evergreen tileset for Hoth.
Finally, I would like to welcome Hawkman back to the fray. He is our longest serving member, and has returned laden with gifts. He has given us a Sith Temple model, and some sweet textures. Check out the boards for details.

Just an Update

Well between me and Slaya we've made a bit of an error, the Repulsorlift factory was made by Ninja and not Slaya as I mentioned in my previous post. Ninja says we can use the unit so there's no major problem.
In recent news we are currently looking at a new way to release SWTA. We are toying with the idea of incremental releases e.g. a bit a time. We'd get all the base units and interface working and then build on that with weekly/monthly releases. So what do you think? If you want to put in your two cents come and post on our
bulletin board, there's a thread all ready assigned to this subject.

Well that's about it, although here's an interesting
titbit from our past, check it out.

We have returned!

That's right ladies and gents, we have been rejoined with our original hosts, TA Universe. That means update your bookmarks;
www.tauniverse.com/swta, and change your homepage. This move allows us to update the page more frequently, with news of the most popular TC around!

Progress...

Well, I've been busy moving things across from the old site to the new one, which along with 'Real Life' has kept me pretty busy. 115 hasn't really shown his face today on ICQ, but no doubt he's cooking up some kind of scheme to make us work harder:) Jer is currently tweaking the Rebel Repulsorlift Factory you guys saw the other day...and it's looking good!

Speaking of progress...

Here is my version of the Rebel Repulsorlift Factory. I think it's nicer.

The ball's rolling…again.

Ok I think it can be safely said that we are going forward again :). Cheese has come out of fridge or where ever he resides and is moutching about again. Slaya has decided he's in need of a new project to get is teeth into and has decided join up and has finished four of the remaining models that still needed doing, my favourite of which you can see at the end of this post. Jer is busy doing scripting work for the new models and no doubt tweaking some of the older ones. Yensid has also decided to pledge his help and is currently refining our in game screens after my plea for help in previous couple of posts.

Now for the rest of you, ok fair enough you don't want to help directly but we always respect your opinion. So jump into our forum, yes we do have one just look over there on the side bar. It's easy to register, just choose a user name and enter your own password, none of this wait 2 minutes and you'll password will be emailed to you.

I'll try to update more regularly in future, otherwise here's that little piccy I promised.

btw your looking at a the Rebel Repulsorlift factory.

A special message for Sputnik: The email address I've got for you at Uni doesn't seem to work, can email me plz.

Call to arms

'Lets kick the tyres and light the fires big daddy'. Here's the deal any SWTA members still active and not in hiding, who want to finish this project email me by next Friday. We're getting ready for the final push, it's now or never.

A special message for Cheese: You've left us a good base to build on, but as it is you not replying to my emails. We could really do with the latest files you've been working on, however we can't wait forever. C'mon mate come through for us, and we can finish this once and for all.

Keep the flag flying

Well someone has to keep the place going I guess ;). The last news page was getting rather long so I decided to start a new one, don't worry though i archived the other one other there on the side bar.

Who want's to help this project get going again? Well don't all rush at once ;). Anyway one of the major aspects that still need working on is the in game screens. So I thought we could have a lil competition on who could design us the best front end, a complete set of in game screens would be grate but i wont hold my breath. Some of the current beta screens in the spaceport pack aren't bad, so if you fancy trying to smarten go right ahead.
So what you waiting for? There's plenty of Star Wars backgrounds out there if you need some 'inspiration'. Send all the entries
here.

Dun Dun Dun....
What you've all been waiting for the results of the 'Which side will you choose poll?', but first I will say I was astounded at the amounts of votes we received even if people did vote more than once it's still a huge amount.

Which side will you play?

Rebel 19%
Imperial 26%
I'll decide once I've see the units 55%

537 Total Votes

Looks like most of you are just waiting to see who has the best units :). Not surprisingly I think the pics of the ATAT swayed a fair few of you to the dark side.
